Year 8's show-stopping final moment

Mary Poppins - what a magical final chapter and a perfect sign off from our unforgettable Year 8 pupils

As the curtain falls on Year 8 for our 2026 leavers, we reflect on their production of Mary Poppins, which was a joyful, unforgettable celebration of everything that makes this such a special year group: creativity, teamwork, determination and no shortage of spirit.

"It just feels like yesterday that they were in Year 2," commented one parent. "It is incredible to see how far they've come. We loved the joy in their performance of Mary Poppins, which was clear for all to see. Alongside the incredible individual performances, we so enjoyed the big scenes with 40-50 pupils on stage as chimney sweeps, creating this incredible atmosphere, with the whole year group singing and dancing their hearts out and creating these fabulous memories together!"

As they stepped off the stage, so close to leaving Westbourne House, we reflected on far more than one brilliant performance. This cohort has been defined by its ‘can do’ attitude, collaborative spirit and kindness.

"Year 8, we will miss your willingness to embrace every opportunity and your ability to lift one another up. From the classroom to the stage, the sports field to everyday moments in between, you have left your mark. We feel such a strong sense of pride in all you have achieved and the way you have contributed to the life of the school. We are incredibly proud of the young people you have become."

Mr Allum, Head of Year 8

Now it’s time for Year 8 to fly. We can’t wait to see where their journey takes them next and to hear of all of what they go on to achieve.

Thank you for the memories Year 8 and for everything you have contributed to our school.
